How to Prepare for your appointment

How to Prep for Your Better Days Appliance Repair Appointment

(Without Stress)

We’re ready to fix your appliance, but let’s make sure the visit goes smoothly—no surprises, no chaos. Here’s your quick guide to a successful repair:

1. Confirm Your Zip Code (Seriously, Oregon’s Big)

We serve both Central Oregon and Portland, and some zip codes get tricky! Make sure we have your correct city and zip code to avoid us waving from the wrong porch.

2. Power Up: 24-Hour Rule

If your appliance has been off, turn it on at least 24 hours before we arrive. We can’t diagnose a fridge colder than your ex’s heart if it’s been unplugged.

3. Defrost the Drama (and Your Freezer)

Freezer or ice maker issue? Defrost fully before we arrive. We repair appliances, not indoor floods.

4. Clear the Stage

Move anything blocking the appliance—laundry piles, holiday decorations, or that chair you’ve been “meaning to fix.” Pets can stay, but only if they’re supervising.

5. Share the Scoop

We love detective work, but clues help. Strange noises? Leaks? Burning smells? The more you tell us, the faster we solve the case.

6. Find the Secret Code (Model & Serial Number)

Every appliance has an ID badge—usually behind a door, under a lid, or somewhere frustratingly hidden. Jot it down if you can—it speeds up part orders.

7. Easy Access, Please

Built-in ovens, tight laundry closets, or dishwashers with booby traps—if we can’t reach it, we can’t fix it. Make sure we can get in there without gymnastics.

8. Have Your Phone Handy

We might call or text on our way. So, just this once, let your phone ring out loud.

9. Gate Codes & Guard Dogs

Got tricky parking, a gate code, or a pup who thinks repair techs are the enemy? Give us a heads-up!

Follow these steps, and we’ll handle the rest—because better appliances mean better days.
